Learning is a relatively lasting change in behaviour or knowledge from experience, and its classic theories still organise the whole topic. For example, Pavlov's dog salivating to a bell shows classical conditioning, while a student studying because it earns praise shows operant conditioning. This chapter covers Thorndike, Guthrie and Hull, both conditionings, reinforcement schedules, behaviour modification and cognitive learning.
