Correlation measures how two variables move together, and regression uses one variable to predict another — but neither, alone, proves that one causes the other. For example, study hours and exam marks may correlate at 0.70, yet both may be driven by motivation. This chapter works through Pearson and Spearman correlation, special coefficients, partial and multiple correlation, and regression with numbers.
