Propositional logic studies how the truth of compound statements depends on their parts, while quantification extends logic to statements about all or some members of a class. For example, if it rains then the ground is wet is false only when it rains and the ground is not wet. This chapter explains truth-functions, connectives, and the rules of quantification.
