A library serves everyone only when its services fit users who face barriers others do not: a child learning to read, an elderly person with low vision, a prisoner without internet, or a researcher who uses a screen reader. Inclusion is not a separate kindness added to normal service; it is the test of whether normal service actually works. A catalogue that only a sighted, literate adult can use is not yet a public service.
