RTI, IT Act and national initiatives

Two laws reshaped Indian information access: one opened government records to citizens, the other gave electronic records legal standing. This chapter explains both and the national initiatives that carry them into libraries. A citizen asking for a road-work file shows the right to information in its simplest form.
