Contract law turns promises the law will enforce into a working system: offer, acceptance, consideration, capacity and lawful purpose must all be present, and breach leads to remedies that protect the bargain. This chapter builds the formation checklist and the remedy ladder. A worked example shows an offer to sell a laptop for a stated price, accepted unconditionally: a contract is formed, and a later refusal to deliver is a breach, not a change of mind.
