Pedagogy is the art and science of teaching — not just what to teach but how, why and for whom. Pedagogical analysis breaks a lesson into its parts: what was taught before, what will be taught now, the objectives, the method, the aids and the evaluation. Worked example: a teacher who begins by recalling yesterday's lesson, states today's objective, explains with an example, asks questions, and ends with a short check has performed pedagogical analysis in action, whether or not they use the term.
