Politics decides who gets what education, in what language, with whose history in the textbook — so education is never politically neutral. A liberal sees schooling as the way to free individuals and equalise opportunity; a conservative sees it as the transmitter of tradition and order; a critical theorist asks whose knowledge counts and who is silenced. Worked example: a debate over whether history textbooks should stress national glory or also record failures is not a textbook debate only — it is politics of education, fought over curriculum.
