Human resource management is the management of people at work: finding the right people, developing them, keeping them motivated and treating them fairly. Worked example: a firm that hires hastily without job analysis ends up with a skilled technician in a sales role and a persuasive talker maintaining machines — the mismatch costs both performance and morale, which is why HR planning starts before recruitment, not after.
