Corporate tax planning is arranging a company's affairs within the law to minimise tax — through timing, location, form of organisation and choice of incentives. Worked example: if a company can claim a deduction this year or next year, and its marginal rate is higher this year, taking the deduction this year saves more tax — the same deduction, different timing, different saving, all within the law.
